A little help needed, please read

<p>I was a little confused as to which forum this would post would be appropiate for. I figured this is my best bet but it is a semi-unique situation.</p>

<p>I am about to start my Senior year of University in New Orleans. I am currently set to graduate after spring semester 2008 with a double major in Finance & Economics.
My plans for life after college vary a bit but recently I had a new idea which interested me more then all previous ones. I have never felt quite this strongly about where I want to go in terms of my education and career since I can remember (as far back as high school). So here it is, I want to finish my degree this year, graduate, then go back to school for a undergraduate degree in astrophysics, or aeronautical/aerospace engineering. This may sound silly and that is essentially why I am posting it. I wonder how many years it would realistically take given that I will credit to skip all common curriculum required by most universities? After this I will most likely attend graduate school and looking at schools outside of the States. With this said, there is always the possibility of not changing my mind and simply going back to my first double major degree and looking at graduate schools (thats primarily why I want to finish up and graduate this year). So… here are some questions I have, and I would appreciate any help or comments anyone may have.</p>

<li><p>How many years for a second bachelors?</p></li>
<li><p>Good schools for this paticular major(s)? I have been looking on my own but maybe someone knows someplace quite special.</p></li>
<li><p>Will it work for or against my favour to have a 4 year double major degree when applying to another school (and for a completley different field)?</p></li>
<li><p>Am I crazy?</p></li>
</ol>

<p>I am 21, college life in New Orleans in the past 3 years has treated me very well, I figure I ought to do this while I am young and have the time and ability.</p>

<li><p>It can take 2-3 years for a second bachelor's, depending on the school you are transferring to (and how they credit degree-holding students) and prerequisites.</p></li>
<li><p>Don't know - maybe other posters can help on this one...MIT, obviously, but it's not really my field.</p></li>
<li><p>It doesn't matter at all for undergrad, providing your GPA was good.</p></li>
<li><p>That entirely depends on your situation and reasons.</p></li>

D's boyfriend has discovered 2 years after graduation with a BS Pysch that he wants to be a Mech Engineer. Since he's living in St Louis with her where she attends Grad School, he used the local resources at college depts to figure out what path he needs to follow. They reviewed his transcripts, and he has started taking the math reqs he needs at the local CC, to be followed with admittance to the U of Mo in St Louis,the program runs jointly with Wash U.The advisors worked with him very closely and figure it will take about 2 years of study,summer sessions included.
My best advice is to get in touch with the schools that interest you, their dep'ts specifically and work backwards from there (as opposed to getting in touch with undergrad admissions).</p>
