So in January, I took 3 tests, and got these scores:

Math II: 650
Physics: 730
Lit: 720

I was happy with these, but needed to bring my Math II score up. So I just got my June scores:

Math II: 780
Physics: 690
Lit: 590 (whaaaaat)

So I'm really proud of my Math II score. But am I screwed? Colleges will have to see the trashy Lit and old Math II score, and my decreased Physics score?

For most colleges, you can choose which scores to send (i.e., you could send the second math II score and the old physics score). Also, top colleges (Ivies minus Harvard, many top LACs, etc.) require two SAT subject scores, so you don’t have to send all three of your test scores (math, physics, and lit).

Read up on testing policies, though.

Yale’s policy is that if you send one SAT subject test score, you must send ALL SAT subject test scores (same for SAT I scores and ACT scores).

From Dartmouth’s site:

Often, if you submit more than two scores to colleges that only ask for two, they will only review your two highest scores. I hope this helps.

@LAMuniv But Score Choice only works by date, so I can’t, for example, send the June Math II but omit the June Lit, I have to send all for each date.

In the same situation. Did you feel confident with that Lit test? Seemed quite easy and from what I can tell I got most of it right, yet I ended up with a very similar score. No idea what’s up.

@BassGuitar that is true for SAT I, but not subject tests. To verify, I logged into College Board, chose a random college to pretend to send my scores to, and I was given the option to select any combination of my scores, including one on one date but not the other from that same date.

As I said, you’re completely correct if you’re talking about SAT Is. In this case, you have to send every subsection on a single date. If you send multiple, most scores will superscore, or consider only the highest score for each section, regardless of the date.

@dune297 It’s a stupid, stupid test. All you can do is hope you get easy passages. I went from 650 (December) to 720 to 590.
