Okay, I've got my interview stuff set and I've gone through the common questions in college interviews etc etc. I've also had an interview before, so i know what it's like. But are there any unique things that happen in Penn interviews? or any questions that anyone found weird?

More importantly, do the Penn interviewers read your submitted applications before the interview?
If not, what do they know about you before the interview?
Thanks in advance!

They pretty much know nothing about you. Just be pleasant and show an interest in Penn. For the most part, interviews don’t help or hurt you in the admission process. Ask questions as well as talk about yourself. Think of it more as a personal information session.

My interviewer knew briefly about my ECs. Regardless, the purpose of the interview is to put a face on the application and tell the admissions office some things that you didn’t tell them in the application. Keep this in mind and you should be fine. Also be wary about unorthodox questions (what gets you up in the morning?,what color would you be and why?, what three people would you choose to have dinner with? Etc.). You should be fine. Just be yourself. Don’t say things that you think the interviewer wants to hear. Good luck!
