UMich is popular at my school, the University rep that came for an info session said that any kids applying from my school better send them in pronto (as in, by 10/31,) knowing the caliber of the students here and the sheer number that apply. Problem is, I wasn't there as I was taking a big test, and I knew it'd be crowded anyway. If I get mine sent in by the end of November, do I still have a good shot?

UM doesn't consider writing scores and it's supposedly one of the most accepting colleges toward gays, lesbians, transgenders, hobbits, etc so your involvement in that club will have a positive impact on your admissions process.

interesting responses. One of you says my supprt of the GSA is nonsense? is that because I'm solely a member and not an officer? or what?
Another says it'll be an important factor toward my acceptance.
And yet another says, in jest, that I'll be popular there? For what reason? haha

Everyone I've spoken to at UM has said that the SAT Writing isn't considered in the admissions process. Reeso33, I meant that since UM is very supportive of gays, lesbians, and company, your involvement in that club might be more advantageous to your admissions process as opposed to if you were involved in a club like "15th century literature lovers" or something like that.

Those clubs are a joke, straight up. To propose that we should form a sort of "alliance" between gays and straights not only implies a sort of abnormality for the gay people, but also implies separation. It's like a Malcolm X approach to sexuality, hahaha. I don't think we should have to go and shake hands with gay people and be like "Yes, we're allied." It should be NOT A DAMN PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. It shouldn't be GSA... It should be Mother-****ing-christ-we're-actually-equal-so-let's-just-ignore-our-differences-and-not-hope-for-greater-divisions-through-stupid-implications-of-stupid-people.

I don't know, they're all just hopping on a bandwagon hoping that it's moral without actually thinking. And maybe they're just looking for an excuse to not have to talk for that one day in class. No matter what though, it's a ****ing joke.

Dude, right on. These gays keep thinking that they want all their marriage rights and all that s-h-i-t, when in reality the only thing holding them back is the intense separation they cause.

Evangelicals should give up their fight, let them have all the rights they want, and maybe the gays will just shut up and go away because there will be nothing left to argue over.

Hehe, how surprising, a guy just wants some advice on college admissions and we get digress onto something else. Going back to hopping on the bandwagon, what do you guys think of the whole Rev. Ted Haggard scandal?

I'm a girl. and awheio, that's kind of what it is. we aren't forging alliances. just repping the people out there who actually realize that we are mother****ing equal. ie non stupid people. might imply separation but there is one unfortunately. oh well.
