bumppppppp

bump^^^^^^^

I’m not sure how Georgetown or the other schools you listed treat transfer students. Your college record is remarkably more impressive than your high school record, though your extracurricular record is very good. I would recommend talking with admissions staff at these schools and finding out what their requirements or recommendations are for transfer students because they often vary wildly (especially in the Ivy League, where transfers are fairly rare).

well, the average rate for GTown is 20% acceptance i think average GPA around 3.7; i know my GPA for the year will be alot higher than the average but my HS stats are worrying me and the college GPA is only based on one semester so far =/…

You should be in all if they don’t look at high school.

lol best dressed–cornell, dartmouth, uchicago, and georgetown are the only low reaches. not sure about their retention rates though so they might actually be higer reaches depending on how many transfers are accepted

^^^haha had to show a little character in awards ;)

bump^^^^^^

I’m not too knowledgeable about transfer admissions. :frowning: But I do know for fact that Berkeley is considerably easier to transfer into than fall admission (which does not go for a lot of top schools)

You have a very strong college GPA. As a transfer, they won’t really care for your HS record (do others than UC Berkeley?). Remember that your essay has to be about your passion for your major, so a heart-felt essay involving your EC’s should be an in for Berkeley. Good luck!

i was thinking of doing my essay on my experience internationally with habitat for humanity and how its laying the work for what i want to do with my life maybe a little over the top but i’m passionate about it

I’m not at all familiar with transfer admissions, but with your college credentials, I’m sure you have a good shot at all of the schools on your list.

Thanks for chancing me! And good luck!

i’d say in at all, the ivies might be difficult b/c they arent friendly to transfering. if gt has 20% you’ve gotta be in

i looked into Cornell and Dartmouth’s programs a littler closer today and have crossed those ones off actually. how much will my High school transcript hurt me?

Not sure how these college treat transfers but i’ll take a shot

Georgetown University (My top choice, I’ve visited)- I think you have a fair shot, you went to college did very well-def improved from HS–so i would say match-low reach
George Washington University- probably in
Cornell-low reach
Berkeley-low reach just bc you’re out of state
Boston- in for both, University and College
Dartmouth low-mid reach
American -in
UChicago- low reach

thanks for chancing me

bump^^ I’d like to get a few more opinions and what SAT2s should I take? World History is not offered in January i was thinking US History & Math 1?

bump^^^^^^^

I think you have a good shot. SAT 1400 was CR+M combined right? They are pretty good scores in my view.

Georgetown University match
George Washington University with the 4.0 in
Cornell low reach
Berkeley yeah its going to be hard to get into berkeley just because of out of state status/the recession.
Boston in definitely
Dartmouth low reach
American n/a
UChicago match/low reach
