I recently discovered that I was rejected by UCSD

Now correct me if Im wrong but the "UC GPA" is the "GPA" that the colleges have as their reported averages correct and is the GPA for grades 10 & 11?

If so my UC gpa is a 4.15
My Sat was a 2080
over 50 hours of community service (although this wasnt all done when i applied)
NHS, marching band, wind ensemble, cross country, track

I dont know where I went wrong, conversely I have 3 friends who all were worse than me (one had three D's, another a few C's, and all three had SAT's below 1900) who all got into UCSD)

I did however get into UCSB but a lot of my classmates who were also quite a bit lower than me got in, and now Im worried i wont get into Berkely or LA.

What gives here? And what are my chances for UCLA and UCB?

Well UCs are weird like that. As i said before a friend of mine was accepted to UCSD and rejected from UCI. There could some factors like, race or something in your application the admission office interpreted wrong.

If you really wanted to go to UCSD, you could probably ask for an appeal, and ask how many points you had

Though i don’t really know much about UCLA or UCB, but for right now all you can do is wait.

Good luck to you!

So far for their races, one is black, one is white, one is asian, and one is mexican.

Although I know the white one has a sob story that probably helped in his PS. The others probably have the racial factor, except the asian one which doesnt make any sense at all.

I also have another asian friend who got in, but he is legit, and extremely intelligent.

I dont know… i guess you are right, the whole admission system is a bit ridiculous, but my rejection does not inspire confidence none the less.
