TheAnalyzer, the selectivity rank of Stanford does not fully reflect on the ranking it has achieved. Stanford does not rank students based on test scores and GPA as it has a “holistic” approach in reviewing the applicants portfolios. If Stanford would just rank their applicants based on test scores and accept the ones that have the highest scores, it would surely achieve higher stats than it actually has published now. So, presenting test scores to measure its selectivity is not really a good gauge of its selectivity level. The odds of getting into Stanford is smaller than Columbia. The yield rate of Stanford is higher than Columbia – signifying that Stanford is in a league above Columbia. Stanford’s leagues are HYPMC, not Columbia. That is not to say Columbia isn’t great. It is just not in the universe of HYPSMC yet.

^Ah, I seee you’re from UC Berkeley, a low class school ranked 21 compared to both Columbia and Stanford. You should be ashamed. And what gives you any right to put Columbia down? Columbia is ranked higher than Stanford. Period. Columbia is better.

^ I am not from Berkeley but my wife is. She chose it over Columbia and 2 other Ivies. Berkeley was my 2nd choice back then, MIT was my first choice. I wasn’t accepted at both, but I was accepted at Columbia and 3 more Ivies + Mudd, Rice, Bowdoin and Hiram College. and, btw, Berkeley is now ranked 22nd not 21st. No need to be personal next time. We’re not talking about ourselves, but the schools.

Satire or not? I can’t tell.

Not clever enough to be satirical. ■■■■■ worthiness, 100 percent!

Does Usnews give separate Peer Assessment numbers and High School Counselor numbers anywhere?

I could only find High School Counselor numbers.
