A lot of little questions- transfers!

<p>--- That I am sure have been answered in other threads! However- I am bringing them all up here together. Insight on any of them would be wonderful!</p>

<p>Directed at transfer students-</p>

<li><p>How many classes are you registered for at this point? I don't have my registration date until three weeks from now but begged to get a spot in two classes- my major is completely full in upper division and I have finished all my lower division courses. </p></li>
<li><p>How many classes are you going to try to crash that are already FULL? What are the chances of getting in these classes? Isn't it slightly juvenile to shift around your classes at the upper division level? Professors I have emailed told me to come to class to wait list for many people drop or change courses. Really? </p></li>
<li><p>Do you have to fill out the little orientation and quiz for the loan on FAFSA's website to get that money put into your BARC account?</p></li>
<li><p>This may sound so ignorant and naive- but I will go there! The student fees that already show up in my BARC account are just for the two classes I am already enrolled in? No way!? Is that amount given automatically for those who must take a full time load? Or when I do register for two more classes in three weeks will that amount double? I don't see how that can be.</p></li>
<li><p>Anyone's NEW STUDENT PROFILE up? Just dying to see mine...</p></li>

<p>Okay- cannot wait to get all this figured out so I can quit being so uptight. Ha.</p>

<p>I’m not sure about most of your questions, but i can answer the fourth one.
UCSB doesn’t have you pay by unit, you just pay tuition, so the amount in your BARC account is for all the classes you may take, up to 21 units.</p>

<p>I was really lucky, I have an amazing advisor for Biology. I was able to register for 16 credits worth of classes, terrible times… but at least I don’t need to worry about crashing classes.</p>

<p>As I said, my advisor was amazing, and she e-mailed the chemistry department heads to give me an authorization code on an already full class. I really do hope people will “shift around” their classes due to the crap times I got, and I do foresee it as a definite possibility as we are Upper Division students now, and a lot of us will start volunteering/researching/interning/etc.</p>

<p>As for the barc code, my total is a little over $3,300 with 16 units. Do you know if housing is included into that?</p>

<p>housing will be a little over 4,000 if you are doing a quarterly payment. your total should be just over 7,000.</p>
