My son got the same email as anna_b and a scholarship mail ask him to update his national merit status and a card remind him to watch something in admission.nyu.edu/diversity!

Is that Sat@Square thing only for CAS or all Depts...b/c I'm Stern...?

ummm does this mean we are in or not???

I got the e-mail too...I dunno, It doesn't say anything explicitly, although it would be pretty rude to "urge you to consider both the academic strengths and the strong faculty connection" a week before they reject you...

I got the email for CAS too! but i didnt get sunday in the square..

im really confused about the email.. ahh what does it meean :o

i was worried because it kinda sounded like a letter a college would send to a junior or something urging them to check out the college...so i got paranoid that they lost my application or something.. haha but it makes me feel much better that you guys got it too.

did people NOT get it is my question now

...and yeah, it would be extremely mean to send out a letter "urging you to consider" NYU's department in CAS/math/whatever if you're gonna find out that you're rejected a week later.

i got the same e-mail from the english department

haha yeah it seems like everyone got it. damn.

How about Stern ppl...did any Stern applicants get it?

yeah, I got one from CAS as well, subject headline "Your NYU Program - Ask the Faculty"..sounds like a likely letter to me.

so everyone who applied to cas got a likely letter? doesn't make sense.

i put undecided on my app.. so does that mean i probably wont get an email?

Not everyone. Look at the other thread.

I received that email and I chose undecided as my major.

Nevermind, I just checked my e-mail again and I got one.

Yeah, I didn't get one, but I never got a confirmation email when I submitted my app either. However, I know they got it cus I called and confirmed with them.

I called admissions office about the CAS reception invitation, and the lady did say, the invitation card is for students that will be recieving some good news very soon, so I'm assuming its a for sure in, unless I'm dillusional.

So I got the scholarship mail and the "Your NYU Program" email but no CAS reception invitation....any input? why am i 2/3

all i got was the nyu program mail

i only got 2/3 as well. I think the reception is for higher priority applicants.
