I can’t answer your question, but will help you bump the thread up because my son has very similar credentials to yours (3.9 GPA on a 4.0 scale, sports and ECs, eagle scout, top 15%), and is also considering this same path. He hasn’t taken the SAT/ ACT yet (slated for March and April for both) so that will be a big factor. DId you attend the A&M student day this past weekend? We were there, and the person giving us a tour of Mays said leadership positions are a big “plus” to getting selected to the Honors program - that they want to see you as a diverse person willing to go above and beyond just the books, so to speak, into the world outside. You seem to fit that bill fairly well. What she couldn’t tell me, however, was the acceptance rate into Honors. If I heard her correctly - she also said that if you didn’t get in as a freshman, you could also apply for Honors in your Sophomore year, but it was very competitive. And I also think she said you had the potential sometimes to take certain Honors classes, even if not selected for the program. WHat other schools are you considering, or are you an Aggie die-hard?

Looking at your post again - I guess you know about the rule that a 30 on the ACT (with at least a 27 math & verbal) or a 1300 SAT (at least 600 each in math/verbal) and top quartile of class rank will get you into A&M. You seem to be pretty close with your ACT score… might be worth a re-take if your SAT doesn’t get you there.

Thanks and I am retaking in April and shooting for a 30. As for other schools I either want A&M Mays or UT McCombs b-school. I like both a lot and am not sure if i get in which one I would take.

And to answer your other question yes I did Aggieland Saturday and was very impressed with the campus especially the rec. center and the business school.

I just read an A&M business school magazine that cited the admission to business honors program “minimum” was a 1250 SAT and at least top quartile. WIll you be taking the SAT as well? (They didn’t cite their ACT reqs, tho I’m sure they must have them…)
