Hotels will book up within a few weeks.
Hotels raise their rates for events, like Game Days, Parent’s Weekend, Ring Day and Graduation so be prepared for rate shock.
Pay attention to the details. Some hotels will require a 2 day minimum stay. Pay attention to the refund dates. These can change for special events and can be 45 days out from event.
Book DIRECT to the hotel where you want to stay. While tempting to use a booking site, using booking sites can get you kicked out of your reservation if the hotel becomes overbooked. Every year, there are people who arrive at their hotel, with confirmed reservations through the booking site, and they have no room. No recourse. Not every booking site reservation gets booted but there are many who do. No one wants to be the one that does.
Those booked directly get first priority.
There are tons of things to do Parent’s weekend from the Maroon and White football game, baseball games, some organizations have banquets.
That said, any weekend is great to go visit your Aggie. Staying in touch is vital and getting a glimpse into their world and what they are doing is great!!! That does NOT have to take place on Aggie Parent Weekend. It can be anytime. So, if Parent Weekend doesn’t work out for whatever reason, ANYTIME is a good time to be in Aggieland. In fact, we went to our son’s Freshman Year Parent Weekend. We go other weekends to visit. The only other one we will go to is his Ring Day (also an Parent Weekend). It’s all good.
