My son applied to texas a&m as a review admit in October and still hasn't heard anything. We are out of state, he had a 29 composite ACT score(so he missed the auto admit barely), he attends a competitive state residential school for gifted students that does not rank and has taken a college curriculum there where he has a 3.7 (4.0) scale. He has multiple extra curricular activities also. We're all getting nervous because we didn't expect him to have a problem getting in. A&M is his first choice. Anyone else having to wait this long? Any advice would be much appreciated. We've also visited the campus once. He did send in the three essays with recommendation letters.

a 29 is an excellent score… yeah it’s one point off from auto admission but i’m sure he’ll get in. i’m in review status as well and from what i’ve heard the review admits will be notified anywhere starting in late march to early april. i’m so nervous :/

A friend of ours with similar stats, but lower ACT score (27) from OOS got in. This student had a 3.95 GPA at a college prep school that does not rank. Decent extracurriculars and community service, good essays plus the optional C essay. Applied in September, with application complete at the end of September. Found out Jan. 4th- ACCEPTANCE. I can’t imagine your son would get rejected with those stats. Good Luck!!!
