A Math Question

hey guys,
I need help with this problem:

<a href="https://scontent-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t1.0-9/10296873_10203017250024248_8943826025144992266_n.jpg">https://scontent-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t1.0-9/10296873_10203017250024248_8943826025144992266_n.jpg</a></p>

The answer is A.

thanks.

A is correct because on the graph, it is clear that at x=o, the answer is 0. So that leaves f(a)=f(a) which will always be true.

B is incorrect because the slope of the graph on the left side of the y axis is different than the right side, so the values of a certain ‘a’ are not the same.

C is incorrect because since the graph is decreasing until f(0)… Then any value of a and b on the decreasing line would be incorrect.

D is incorrect because if a is less than 0, the f(a) would have to be a positive number based on the graph

E is incorrect because the values of f are unknown. It IS possible that it would work in a certain scenario, but it is not always the case. For all we know , f(2) could be like 276. It’s not given, but possible. (I hope that made sense)

Simple counterexample for choice E: If a = -b, then a+b = 0, but f(a) + f(b) is not zero.

Or…
a=1 b=2 c=3
a+b+c=6
If the slope of the graph where x>0 is 2, then…
f(a)+f(b)+f©=
2+4+6=12
Therefore, E does not work
