A Medical Path at Baylor

I recently got accepted to Baylor with $16,000 per year scholarship. I'm hoping to get more aid but for now I'm happy :)

Even though I never thought about really majoring in the medical field...I know Baylor has great programs and connections so I'm highly considering it. However...I did not do well in biology and chemistry in high school. I didn't necessarily hate it but I slacked off and was no fan. Also, my work ethic isn't so great....so I guess my experiences all go AGAINST majoring in medicine.

BUT I feel like college is a new start where I can redo everything. I'm considering business, social work, and public policy too...but medicine is fine too.

Is Baylor good? Are the internships/jobs good? Baylor is definitely less rigorous than like Johns Hopkins etc so I think if I do well...it will be good? Any tips? What are the perks of majoring in medicine...especially at Baylor

As an international student, I don’t think you qualify for the special medical programs at Baylor.

Also, congratulations on your admission and for the scholarship!

However, before you accept, wait for other admission letters. You need to compare awards!

Byalor is a very good school. Sure, not like JHU but a good school nevertheless. Friendly students, beautiful campus, a passion for football (American football).

In addition, Baylor is a conservative Christian school (Baptist) so if you are Christian and conservative, that’s perfect, but I see you’re from Korea so this might or might not match your religious and ideological beliefs.

Does Baylor have a major called “medicine”? Most colleges do not have such a major.

if you’re interested in med school, then that’s AFTER undergrad…and most med schools do NOT accept int’l students. The few that do accept int’ls only accept a tiny number.

If you didn’t like Chem or Bio & don’t have strong work ethic a Medical (doctor) path probably isn’t for you.
