Everyone come to the Vassar Chat tonight! I'd love to meet some of you and see who I [might] attend the great school of Vassar with next year. I'm still in the process of making my decision. It'd also be nice if some of you wanted to arrange a small get-together in the city (NYC, that is) for any prospective students in the week of April 23. If any of you are interested, contact me on AIM @ tamoscaiken. Hope to hear from some of you soon! Bye!

i'd chat with you but I use MSN only. Msg me if you have any questions about Vassar, i'd be glad to answer.

What are your thoughts on Vassar or Swarthmore ?

Motherof2girls, Vassar and Swarthmore certainly have their individual perks. Swarthmore is considered an Ivy-level school, as are Wesleyan and (the less popular, but certainly not less qualified, as it is one of my favorites) Vassar. Vassar is located about 75 miles north of New York City, whereas Swarthmore is located in Swarthmore, right outside of Philadelphia (or so I've heard.) Swarthmore's more popular majors are Biology and the Social Sciences, which seem somewhat different from Vassar's focus on the Social Sciences along with the Visual/ Performing Arts. I would say that Swarthmore is more well-reputed and ranked higher, but Vassar offers a fine education that is right up to par with that of Swarthmore. I would suggest that if it comes down to this decision, that you choose wisely. Visit both schools with your daughter(s) and see which environment and learning atmosphere they feel more comfortable in, simultaneously considering her/ their respective major(s). I hope that this helps. If you'd like more information, please let me know.
