I am one of you and would like to ask a favor.

PLEASE STOP POSTING THREADS ASKING IF 1 B WILL MAKE HARVARD'S ADMISSIONS TEAM PUT YOU STRAIGHT INTO THE REJECT PILE!

Ok, all sarcastic bitterness aside, before posting anything about grades lower than B, think about this: Are grades the only thing you have going for you?
If they are, yes - that B is gonna hurt you. If you have any sort of hobby, ec, talent, award, whatever no - its not gonna matter.

No college admissions team expects everyone to be perfect, and remember kids - a B is still an ADMIRABLE grade. I think too often we forget that C is average and B is "above average".

Posting threads like "is 2 b's too many" showing that a) you havent looked through other posts and b) you are too hung up on one thing. Breathe and realize those are fighting words here at CC. Save yourself the shame.

If you can't wow em with a 4.6, wow em with something else.

Well,B is not ABOVE AVERAGE for Harvard. U can be brilliant, well above avg. but not be top 20 mayterial. They ae paranoid yes, but B's too many is UNDEr average for a Top 20 college ... thats why

With so much competition. A B will definitely bring you down for Harvard or something of the same caliber. It's not just CC. It's true. Of course it doesn't mean a B will kick you out. But a B will be worse than say.. ALL the Perfect Straight-A's applying. Unless you have something amazing.

Who do you think they're going to choose? ;)

With that said, Don't freak out over a B. It's all about you're overall application.

You all have missed the whole point of the post - which is to ask people to stop posting about it. the answer is already here 100x in the forum.

Sometimes a B can hurt you. If you go to some rural TTT high school, you should be making all A's if you want to go to Harvard. If you go to an elite magnet or prep school, a few B's are fine.
