<p>You can put down whatever you want, although you might want to check with your family if they have a problem with your choice. In some families, it might be a big deal.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure colleges will still consider you a URM even if you’re half, so you should probably go ahead and put both down. An anti-hook or non-hook will not “cancel out” a hook, haha. </p>

<p>President Omaba is called a Black president, yet he is 1/2 White and 1/2 Black. I’d say select multi-racial, both, or Black — depending on the form’s format, as you likely have experiences and perspectives that are to some extent formed by those identities. Just 2 cents. </p>
<p>No problem. It is self identified, and you are 50 percent, there is nothing shady about it.</p>
<p>If colleges are going to give admission preference to certain racial/ethnic groups, then shouldn’t the schools define who qualifies to be a member of that favored group? 1/4 mix? 1/8? 1/16? Elizabeth Warren?</p>
