A New "Any Questions?" Thread

are the bathrooms coed?

There are coed bathrooms in Donlon, but there are also single sex bathrooms if you don't feel like using the co-ed ones.

Arjun, not that I know of.

Is it single sex bathrooms only at Dickson?

There are also co-ed communal showers and co-ed shower rooms that have glass slider doors with guys on one side and girls on the other.

youre joking, right?
if not, cornell, here i come! lol

Yea, Dickson has single sex bathrooms. The hall is arranged with guys on one end and girls on the other.

Can anyone help me find the distribution SAT scores & rank by school (e.g. CAS, CALS)?

I found it a couple weeks ago but didn't save the site, and now I've looked all over the Cornell site and can't find it.

i didn't save it either but i got the site from a Cornell CC post. Good luck finding it lol.

just go to the thread admissions statistics at the top and they will tell you which link to go to there

Hi! Do you know anything about Cornell's LGBT resource center (or anyone's email that i could ask... i tried emailing the director but she didn't reply)?

Is it a social center, a support center, some combination of the two? Do many students use it?

kwijiborjt: I'm not familiar with the center, but a quick search (search term-LGBT) on Cornell's advice column, Dear Uncle Ezra came up with a lot of information http://ezra.cornell.edu/. If you don't find the answers you are looking for, you can post your own question. You don't have to be a current student to ask.

As an example, here's an excerpt from the June 15, 2006 column in answer to a student's question:

...you’ll be happy to know that Cornell is an exciting place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT), questioning and straight ally students. Cornell has many resources and staff committed and dedicated to sexual and gender diversity and inclusiveness on campus – more than most campuses, in fact! Notably, we have a dynamic Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center located at 282 Caldwell Hall (254 4987, http://www.lgbtrc.cornell.edu/) where you will be met with friendly LGBT staff and students. Here they may provide advocacy, education and referrals and direct you to affirming LGBT resources (i.e., books, movies, peers).

Many students often find their niche among one of the many groups that comprise Haven, an umbrella of LGBT groups that include Mosaic (for same-gender loving people), Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), Ga’avah (Jewish pride), Outreach (social space gay, bisexual and questioning men), LBQ (social space for lesbian, bisexual and questioning women), ZAP! (diverse panel of LGBT student who speak from personal experience) and faQ Online. The Haven website is at http://www.dos.cornell.edu/haven.
