Transfer wins.

that "world's top 100 universities" is complete bs.

True - it's only based on research published, and ignores undergraduate experience, which is important (not that Harvard would understand this).

What do you think your UAI will be? I am asking as to be honest while your rank does not appear bad by any means it would not exactly shout out valedictorian to american adcoms. I realise Sydney Girls is quite competitive so that could be pushing your rankings down and maybe there are ways around this. (btw i am not american so i dont know the process in depth, i am also from sydney)

If you REALLY want to study in the states make sure you apply to more places than just Harvard (or just ivy league). Being Australian may help you stand out at many colleges. I would guess most internationals apply to Harvard as it is the most well known.. while at other good universities you may well be the only australian to apply thus helping you stand out.

How about U Melbourne? if you are sick of Sydney Melbourne could be a nice change. Or are you sick of Australia in general?

Worst case scenario, go to USyd, UNSW, UTS or maq and go on exchange for a year. :)

yeah, because my school is quite competitive even a one mark difference can push down your rank by 40 places, especially in a subject like english or maths.

Well I'm aiming at a crazy high UAI of 99.6 or over because I want to do law at Uni of Syd if nothing else works out, and the cut off is thereabouts.

Thanks for the advice :)
