Hello all; not sure if folks have noticed but I’ve been away from the forum for about two weeks now. So, by way of explanation, I thought I would let everyone know that I’m now on paternity leave and in day 11 of my daughter’s young life! Things are going great but, as you can imagine, work life has kind of taken a back seat for the time being. Today’s the first day I’ve been able to give any attention to the forums but I don’t expect this to be a regular thing until I’m back in the office around mid- to late-September. In the interim another AU staff member may be popping in on occasion using my log-in to answer or respond to burning questions. So thanks in advance for your patience with us during this time and, as always, if you have admissions questions you can call us at (202) 885-6000. Look forward to reconnecting with you all this fall!

Mazel tov!

Take time off and ENJOY!

Mazel Tov! I am so jealous! Enjoy every minute because before you know it she’ll be as old as our kids!

Congratulations! Enjoy the time you have with them, it is fleeting. On the one hand, I miss those baby days, on the other, I don’t, because were they demanding!

AU transfer fields most questions.

Any other thoughts on having an intercollege shuttle so kids can attend activities and classes at all of the D.C. colleges and universities? It would be terrific!

Thanks everyone for your warm thoughts and wishes!

@cadmium - you may have missed the thread when I originally posted it but I am a current professional admissions director in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at AU. My role here on CC is to provide clarification on admissions related topics and respond to specific questions that folks on the forums may have. Unfortunately, the idea or implementation of an intercollegiate shuttle service is well above my pay grade!

Hi KBJ…
Let me add my congrats on your recent arrival. A tiring but exhilarating time I’m sure.

As your time permits, I’d be interested in your responses to a thread from a week or two ago about early decision issues. it’s getting close to the time when seniors will have to decide about ED or regular decision.

thanks.

Cadmom,

did you forget to congratulate KBJ on becoming a father?

Let’s not put too many assignments on this exhausted man’s plate…between answering admissions inquiries, reviewing applications, etc., coupled with all involved with new fatherhood, I’m not sure how you expect him to create in inter-campus shuttle for your daughter so she can find a boyfriend and get married and make that poor man in to a new father (hopefully in that order).

Probably only need a shuttle to the strip club and back.

But that’s probably above your pay grade, too! See what you have to look forward to? You might want to take an extra couple of weeks…

i’ve sent in my app already! But…does my fourth decile ranking consign me to the “no” pile, though my 1290 SAT’s seem in the ballpark? Reco’s, activities, and essay are all pretty good.

I believe that AU does not take class rank into consideration. Check the Common Data Set…or wait for Keith…
