A petition, Please help

Chris Gardener is the senator with SGA here at FSU, and whether you know it or not...we spend over $9 million a year that you students pay. Now I went to the police chief several months ago to talk to him about setting up security cameras, and he said there was no use for them. After VTech, security cameras could have saved lives by determining where the shooter was and what he looked like. So I am asking that you have people sign this petition as I plan on showing it to him in the next week. He still feels they are useless, even tho multiple people on Fox and CNN have stated security cameras would have saved lives:

Hm, no. The chances of being shot on campus are pretty low, and I don't think it's worth the time, money, or lost privacy to install security cameras. I hope this doesn't happen just because people become scared when reminded of their own mortality.

It's not about getting shot on campus, its about safety. They are security camera everywhere else and it doesn't stop people from going. FSU is going to be my home away from home and I want to know that they are doing EVERYTHING they can to keep us all safe. I'm sure, they are a million things we all think to ourselves and say "only in a million years" but crap happens.

Thank you for the consideration.
Thank you.

And we're on our way to becoming a surveillance society...

Are you serious? This sounds like september 11th all over again, just because it happenend once doesn'tr mean we need to hit the panic button and go on a security spending spree, some things need to be changed and police response needs to be more coordinated but by spending a ton of money its not going to make use any safer, its a 400 acre campus you can't see every nook and cranny.
