Tomorrow is December 1st, admission decisions will begin to arrive on or about the 13th and continue until christmas. I want to keep this discussion board open for all of the applicants who got in. If you did, share your joy with the rest of us. Also, please share your stats and major so that the rest of us can see if we have a chance. This is getting pretty exciting. Also, did anyone ever recieve the mail confirmation of documents recieved as promised in the "application recieved" email? I didn't......that was weird.

I didn't either. I've heard that they only send it out when you're actually missing documents - if everything is in they don't notify you.

I know, it's so soon! I got an e-mail with my student ID a couple weeks ago and I got a letter in the mail last week saying that they'd started the initial review and would inform me if they were missing anything, it also had a little section where I could confirm the spelling of my name, intended major, etc.

Hmm Heat24, did you apply online or in paper app? Because I didn't get either of those...should I be worried?

Yeah, I wonder why they'd send it to one person but not another...it's dated November 17th. I applied online. Maybe give the admissions office a call to be safe sometime this week. Did you get the e-mail with your student ID and stuff?

Nevermind, I have the University ID.

Here is what the e-mail said:

"Please do not use the 'Reply' feature on your browser to respond to this message; this e-mail address is not monitored and you will only receive an automated response. Due to the high volume of mail that our office is currently receiving, we are not able at this time to confirm what materials we already have (or have not) received in support of your application. We will, however, be in contact with you later on if your application is missing any required documents. "

for all you ED'ers, counting the days...I got mine on the 9th last year, and I believe that was the earliest.

Sweet. Big envelope? haha.

and also if you want to "cheat" to see if you got in before the envelopes arrived, you can try setting up an email adress...this may just work for RD applicants though, since i dont remember when they give out the emails

Dude, sweet. haha. How?

Any film majors here?

I got that letter in the mail, but nothing was missing.

Ah man, I get the shakes just thinking about the decision. I suppose it will be nice to get a letter and get it over with, no matter what happens.

Anyone have any superstitions? I know I do. =D

i tried setting up one and it said "According to our records you are not eligible at this time to hold an NYU password. As a result, you may not use the ITS Start Service." so either i didnt get in or they dont have it set up yet for EDers

does it work for anyone else?

I tried to sign in and this message showed up:

Attention! your NetID has already been activated.

I did attend their summer program. Maybe its because of that.

https://start2.nyu.edu/ibin/start0.cgi

Is this the site?

Nachon-- I am so pleased that you started this post!

I seriously thought my blood pressure was going to sky rocket through the roof from being on edge all the time. Is anyone with me in that receiving your Early "Decision" from NYU is the ONLY thing on your mind? I feel like I am thinking about it 24/7. I think about it during school, in my dreams and so forth. It is getting extremely aggrivating.

I always find that Bulletin Boards like these always help relieve the pressure and the tension from contemplating your admissions status. Last year, when I went abroad, the BB was the only thing that kept me sane--posting with others about our excitement and qualms. Well I think this will be the same type of relief.

I got the letter from NYU, in the mail, confirming that they had received all of my credentials. I am sure if you havn't received it...it is fine, although you might benefit from giving them a ring.

Good Luck to all of you--In an ideal world all of us will get in. But, alas, nothing in this world always goes as planned, or as hoped for. But I hope that everyone here receives good news!

I know this post is long--but in terms of credentials/majors/school--my stats aren't anything to write home about. I am applying to CAS with a major in Linguistics. 1200/1900 SAT. My school doesn't do GPA's and rather suffice ECs according to NYU standards.

Good Luck to all of my fellow applicants. I look forward to hearing about everyone's admissions status. (Even if I don't get in--which is highly probable)

-Alex

Uh. Sorry, I sound so pretentious and proper. I'm really not. I swear.

I tried to sign in also and it came up with the message that I didn't have a password. However, I also attended the summer program. Now I'm worried! Do you think they just don't have it up for early decision people?

Did you try to sign in with your old netID and password? I signed in and checked into Albert and everything worked. Try to sign in for a new one with your NYU Id that you recieved in the mail and date of birth and see what happens. What class did u take? I took Econ I.

Ah, this is exciting. Dec 9th - that's really early. Other ED-ers, why not list stats/information now? See what the possible incoming class is like... and why did you guys choose to apply ED to NYU?

I did the summer film program. Where did you use your date of birth?
