I just went to that Link. Cool. I hope I get that envelope! Do you guys have AIM? Maybe we should do an "NYU ED Chat". Any takers?

legionaire according to the guy on the NYU admissions forums you can be deferred to GSP from Stern. Hasn't changed

I do hope that I get in. But I wouldn't mind getting deferred. I really want to get into Stern. I should be doing my homework right now, but all I am doing refreshing this page to see the new messages as they are being posted. Taking 5 ap's including calc bc, not concentrating on school work can have very detrimental effects.

haha i've been home sick with strep throat going on four days now. this message board has been keeping me entertained.

i just want a damn answer from these people haha.

I almost want to get deferred to GSP so I can find out sooner and take the tension off! But not. I'd rather get into CAS. But I am seriously going crazy. This does help though...posting with other people in the "sitch".

Stern doesn't do gsp anymore, except for (unofficial) sport recruits from what I've heard. 5 people from stern got put in gsp this year.

haha legion im in the same position as you..i have been putting off my work these last few weeks just to see if anything new has come up in admissions! As we speak im putting off my 1000 word essay on a sonnet and studying for a physics and spanish test tomorrow :( I think if we had that chat i would never complete any of this work! but maybe over the weekend that would be good

hmmm and how do you know this mattistotle? Where does it say that?

NVM I just found it. ****! There goes my acceptance :(

Does anyone that attended the summer film program last year for Tisch know if they call people if they've been accepted? I've heard some people say they got a call before their letter came.

Really want to get into NYU, but the thought of a thin rejection letter is haunting me. Good luck to all other hopefuls!

Your stats are extremely strong. I am haunted too.!

After reading everyone credentials on here, NYU would have to be silly to LET me in. Sigh. Oh well. I hope all of you get in. Community College, here I come.

don't worry. nyu is such a crapshoot. they take/reject some of the oddest people.

historically i should get in, but you never know. i'm worried and i've applied to probably one of the easier schools to get into.

then again my one friend with a 1400+, 4th in class, 3.8, ED'D to tisch last year(extremely talented filmmaker) got in with no money whatsoever, when another person i kno with a 1330, 13th in the same class, no EC's or anythign got in with money.

they're weird up there. people go there with sat's ranging from 1100-1600. i like that, but its doing nothing for my nerves haha.

Nerves are a funny thing.

i wish colleges were more definite like : if you have at least a 3.7 and a 1300 you are in automatically

oh well..just another week or so of being nervous

Alex, I've never heard of a GSP student that applied to Tisch; I didn't think it was possible. Are you sure he didn't apply to another program? If he definately applied to Tisch, did they inform him upon acceptance into the GSP program that he'd have to choose another major? This is interesting.

Yeah he definitely applied to Tisch. I think a film major. From reading the FAQ, I was under the impression that anyone applying to any school could be deferred. Maybe not though, but that is what he told me, and I went and visited him up there and I think its true.

Ok, this is a first for me, I was certain Tisch kids weren't deferred because of its strict structure. But he looks like the rare exception. This is from http://www.arsiel.net/nyu/, a site made by former NYU students designed to help incomings and applicants:

Q: Is there any restriction on the schools a GSP student can transfer to after two years?
Sarah: Unfortunately yes. Both Tisch and Stern are next to impossible to get into as internal transfers in these days. The door isn't completely shut, per se. It's just that the number will be squeezed so tight that the chances of somebody (from GSP or otherwise) transferring in is extremely low. (Note: NOT impossible, just extremely low.)

Yeah. Well maybe he was one of the exceptions. Anyway, I am just saying all of this on what I know...so maybe I misunderstood or maybe he was one of the few. I will call him tonight and ask him. Just to clarify things.

No need to go to the trouble, I was just surprised is all.
