A pretty much unofficial Grinnell Applicant thread

Hey guys, I realize this may be a very small thread, but I have been having bad anxiety about the admissions process and I'd like to take a roll call on who has applied to Grinnell (ED or RD), just to meet others who share my pain D:

So why are you applying, what's the appeal? Do you have a backup plan? What are you doing until December 15th (or, you know, whenever the RD decisions are released)? What will you do if you get accepted? How's your senior year treating you? Let's hear it.

Haha, certainly I'm not the only one who has sent an application (I did EDI)...Today my counselor approached me in order to tell me that Grinnell contacted her about my midterm grades, which I took as a good sign, although it probably doesn't mean much. Idk I'm taking any good I can get at the moment. Luckily those grades were consistent with those of my junior year...But it's kind of a crap shoot.

Anyways, Grinnell applicants, assemble!!!

I'm applying! RD though..it's not my top choice but I'd still love to go there.

Hollylove, I think we're applying to all the same schools. (Or at least two.)

Anyway, yes, I'm applying RD.

My son has applied RD
It is his top choice LAC, but his wish is for MIT or Caltech

RD, Iowan here :)

Where are you applying, magneticpoet? :D

In order of interest: Carleton, Grinnell, Macalester, Kalamazoo, Knox.

ooh, ok. i'm doing carleton (ED2) as well :)

Hey everyone, I just submitted my app for RD!

And same as Holly, not my first choice but would love to go there... and also, another fellow Angelino! Woot!

My other liberal arts college are Macalester, Lewis & Clark, Vassar, and Wesleyan

oooh high five for angelinos! :) does everyone out here think you're crazy for applying to midwest schools, too?

applying for transfer admission :)

Hollylove, yeah i do think i am pretty crazy for applying for schools in the midwest, especially because i'm FROM the midwest. you'd think i'd want to get out, but nope. i'm only going more rural :)

Yeah everyone thinks I'm pretty out there for applying to the Midwest. I remember looking at the temperature a few days ago, 17 with freezing rain... sometimes I think i'm crazy cause even today I was pretty cold and it's like mid-50s. Even my counselor kinda stared at me when he saw the envelope stamped for Iowa!

haha it snowed so much last night/this morning in iowa that some schools are closed.

Lol my school was one of those mew ^_^

NealJ2K, you're so lucky...going to school while waiting for these results is not very fun, although i guess it is a distraction!

17 degrees with freezing rain was bad, but today, not any better, started out in the low 40's and dropped to -1 with a windchill around -25 or -30.
Well, that's for northern Iowa, might be a little different down in Grinell.

Holy ****!

And I thought it was cold today in LA (54 degrees and Cloudy)...

i'm currently having a grand realization that most of the schools i'm applying to...it gets COLD...not like, LA cold, but legitimately cold!

I'm from the inner city, but I got in, early decision. I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the Midwest, really...
