I see so many of you with what I feel is a high number of AP classes. My son's high school is on a block schedule (4 classes per semester) with AP classes
continuing for both semesters. The AP classes are worth 2 credits, others
only 1. How do some of you have 8, 10 and even more AP classes? Does your
school offer honors classes as well? He applied to Michigan...that's why I
posted this here.

Well, I go to two schools in MI. One's a normal high school, and one's a school ehere everything we take is either honors or AP. My home school is on the block scheduling like your school is, but at my other school, we have each class every other day and take four classes each semester there (but we are only there for half of the day). I didn't take a phenominal number of AP classes (only 2, actually), but the number of honors courses that I took kind of added up though.

I think U of M will consider how your school runs and what and how it offers courses when they make their final decision. They can't penalize someone for not take x number of courses when he doesn't have time, etc. to do it.

My school has 10 periods a day, 9 periods are required to have classes taken, some people in my class have taken 14+ AP Classes because theres so much room for electives and such. A lot of my senior friends are taking 7 AP classes just this year.

At my school we're also on block... I had 2 last semester and all 4 are AP this semester. It's intense but doable.

my school has 7 periods m,tues, fri. wed/thurs, we have block scheduling where we have 4 classes on wed, and then 3 on thurs cuz we come in at 9:00. i am taking 3 ap's right now, and the most i believe u could have at once is 5 or 6.
