<p>I do not understand the how document change over time essay. Can someone explain or give me an example?</p>
<p>I'm trying to remember. It's pretty much an essay where you document a civilization over a long period of time. You talk about how the society and political structure changed over the time and highlight continuities. I guess the changes and continuities should be substantiated just as you would substantiate any claims you made in an essay. It's important to highlight everything in a global context, not just because it's AP World History, but also because during a certain period, say around 1000, some places are at high points in civilization (Middle East (especially), West Africa), while others are recovering and not in the world picture much (Western Europe, Mesoamerica).</p>
<p>A COT essay basically highlights what the social, political, and economic aspects that changed over time in a particular area that they give you. It is vital to discuss all three elements of that area, and even better if you can compare is with the relative states of other areas in that time era.</p>
