a question about classroom location

my summer session starts tmr, I was wondering, is KNSY PV - Knudsen Hall? And is WGYOUNG - Young Hall? Hope someone can help me out. :)

Kinsey Pavillion. It's the back side of Knudsen near the inverted fountain. http://www.fm.ucla.edu/CampusMap/Core%20South.htm

And yeah, Young is correct.

cool, thanks, I wonder why the pavillion is not spelled out on the map.

we have a planetarium?

Yeah we do.

And it's probably not spelled out because they changed the name recently. Like, winter quarter recently.

The UCLA Planetarium is the white domed structure atop the Math Sciences building. I spent a month in there freshman summer... According to some vocal Astronomy graduate students operating the planetarium, we need some serious donations (~$2.0 million) to update the star projector -- then we won't have to spend the evenings looking up at the starry nights of the 1990s.

i have yet to stay awake for an entire planetarium show (the free ones on wednesdays). i fell asleep both times i went

theres free planetarium shows?!

not that i would go anyways.

I agree with the above question. I was clueless that there were free shows.

i had to go for extra credit for my earth and space science 7 class. i think astro 3 offers the same extra credit option.

I'll be taking Astro 3 (or possibly 4) in the Spring since my major is finished and all I need is units... I figure in some of my time over in that area I'll find the place.

i have a feeling im going to be the kid holding a map looking for the building where my class is. dang.

Eh there's lots of that. You'll catch on quickly.

But I totally suggest getting an idea of where you need to go and then finding the buildings during zero week so you aren't struggling to get to class when you actually have to be there.

yeah, i recommend going out during zero week (get some friends to go along) and finding your classes. you'll have a much better sense of where everything is and how long you can expect to take to walk there. after a quarter or two you'll more or less know the general area where everything is so you wont have to do that anymore. (i still keep a map in my backpack though :p )

I got lost once last year really badly. I got myself stuck in the engineering building... It should serve as an example of why North Campus students should avoid South Campus. :)

Hahaha I've gotten SO lost in south campus.

I was looking for Hershey, and somehow wound up near the bombshelter, and it was about to rain, and I was wearing stiletto heels, and all of the pathways leading to where Hershey is were blocked for construction. I felt like I was waaaaaay too stupid to have gotten into UCLA that day.

i get lost in boelter. and im a south campus major.

Allie,

I was actually looking for Hershey when I walked into Boelter, which eventually lead me to my engineering building disaster... What I learned from all of this? Don't attempt to take a shortcut if you're not sure where you're going in the first place.

uh oh i'm a psych major...
i have to learn my way around north AND south campus!
grr.

At orientation, my OC told me something about entering MS from the 4th or 5th (?) floor of Boelter Hall. Then I read on facebook that you can only access some floors through a certain elevator(?).

Boelter Hall sounds like a confusing place. Can someone help me out on how to get through the building?
