When admissions committees read the Common App/supplement materials a student has submitted, what is the sequence of essays: common app prompt then supplement or vice versa?

Hope it is clear what I'm asking! Thanks.

While I’m not completely sure, I assume they go through it in order of the print out from the CA. So, the essay first then the entire supplemental follows. Or so I assume.

Hope this helps!

You can’t know for certain in what order your app will be read. Your essays in the supps need to be capable of being read and understood without the benefit of information found elsewhere in your application.

i think you can sort of preview your common app before they send it, so you can kind of get an idea of how it is organized. but it probably mainly depends on the school’s admissions office.
