A question about Fordham 3-2 and Brandeis.

I am planning on going the engineer route in college. I have a dilemma though, Fordham gave me a huge financial aid package like 45k. Brandeis gave me 42k but their cost of attendance is like 56k. Fordham is around 48k. Anyway I know Brandeis is way betta at math and science in general. However, is Fordham's 3-2 program better than Brandeis, I mean come on, a degree from Columbia, you can't even compare, or can you? I plan on getting a phd later on so idk, isn't it a better idea to save as much money as possible as an undergrad? Plz share your advice.

Are those financial aid packages all non-loan?

What other schools did you get into?

other schools were rensselaer, bu, stony. If I include loans, I’ll end up having to pay fordham about 4000 a year and Brandeis around 17,000 a year. I really want to be an engineer though and I think Brandeis is better for that than Fordham. I know fordham has the 3-2 program, but I have doubts about it.

What is the net cost after non-loan financial aid at the others?

Others have said that relatively few 3-2 students actually transfer.

ive decided to weed out the others since their financial aid packages are not nearly as well endowed as either brandeis or fordham

@ucbalumnus: On the other hand, you are practically guaranteed a transfer to Columbia as long as you maintain a 3.0 GPA.

A reason that many students don’t follow through to the 3-2 program is that Columbia doesn’t cover full need under the combined plan program.
