A Question about GPA

In N.C. schools, grades are calculated using a 7-point scale. A 4.0 here translated to a 96%, and for some reason I assumed it was like that on a 10-point scale, too. However, someone told me that a 93% is a 4.0 on a 10-point scale. Do colleges pay close attention to differences in grading scale?

your gpa will be looked at in context to your high school. I’ve heard of an 18 point scale, 100 point scale, 4 point scale, 10 point scale, etc. (never a 7)

Colleges will see, oh a 6.9. How does everyone else do? What, 6.9 is the top GPA? Ok, it must be good. This allows them to correct for grade inflation, different grading scales, etcc.

By 7-point scale, I meant:

93-100 A
85-92 B
77-84 C
70-76 D
