<p>Can I just get an external backup hard-drive instead of upgrading the hardrive of my laptop ? My original laptop only has harddrive space of 40gb, but the backup thing has 80 gb, so total it would be 120gb, correct? I found that is cheaper than upgrading from 40gb to 120. </p>
<p>Is there any disadvantage in this? Is the external hard drive just the same thing as the upgrade, except that it is outside the laptop? Am I missing something here?</p>
