A Question About Honors Housing

i just called Schreyers Honors College to check if i was in, since SOMEHOW didn't hear anything from them, and fortunately, i was accepted.(Hooray~~!!)
Since i've heard so many good stuff about Schreyers, i'm thinking about attending PSU.

But my concern is about my housing.
i just read some of the replies on the posts below and they seem pretty ugly to me... things about supplemental housing and stuff....
From what i know, doesn't honors status reservate a space in honor housings??? plz correct me if i'm wrong.

btw, i know both of the honors housings are great, but there must be some differences. Can anyone tell me them??? like facilities and stuff???

If you reply to the Penn State and the SHC offer of admission by the deadline, and get your application for on-campus housing in on time, and list living in Honors Housing as your first priority, you'll be placed in either Simmons or Atherton.

I don't think you have a choice as to whether you live in Simmons or Atherton. I only lived in Atherton, but I loved every minute of it.

thanx kcs149!! :-) i'm relieved..
but you make me want to know what makes honors housing so special.
can you tell me the advantages and opportunities of honors housing??

jac0625, you may be interested in the following webpage and website: http://www.shc.psu.edu/housing.html and http://livinglearning.shc.psu.edu/ <-- quite informative

Hope to see you there in August. :)

Simmons is in a great location. Close to everything. Downside is the small doubles, pretty sure they were originally built as singles (one wall is all built ins and there is only one set of drawers with a small mirror above it.) But if you want to stay there and try to get a regular double your second year it is all OK.
