@mattbarbar: Is your SAT of 1200, all 3 sections?? Your grade in High School?? GPA???
Average SAT score for UCSB: 1900+
Average SAT score for UCSD: 2000+

@Gumbymom yes it was my first time. My gpa is 3.83 still junior it will be like 4.2 at end what you think.

If your SAT score is truly at 1200 for all sections, it would take a miracle to get an additional 600-700 points on your next try, no matter how hard you study. What is the breakdown of your scores?? Math/Critical Reading/English? You definitely need to retake just for any chance at any school in California. At the present, there would be a very low chance for you in getting into a low tier Cal State. Your GPA does not match the SAT Score which will be a huge problem for the schools indicating your GPA is greatly inflated. If you are a Junior, you have all summer to prepare. Good Luck

Thank you @Gumbymom

Perhaps you would do better with the ACT. You can use your public library to take out study guides with practice tests for the SAT and ACT. May be you can take a couple practice tests of each and work on the one you score higher on from the practice tests. Good luck!

Thanks @Veggielover
