A question about self studying for AP Exams (AP Micro/Macroeconomics)

Hi Everyone!

Next year (junior year in high school) in school I'm taking 3 AP Classes ( AP Stats, AP World History, AP Biology) and Honors English, Honors Pre-Calc, and Honors French 4. This year I took AP US and got a 5 on the exam, but I never managed my time well and would always end up reading 30 pages of our textbook the night before a test. And I don't want that to happen again this year.

I'm also interested in economics. But this is a problem, because my school doesn't offer any economics classes (and I would like to take AP Micro/Macroeconomics to get college credit because I may want to go into government later). So, is there any way that I could teach myself the material for economics and take the exam(s) even though my school doesn't offer the classes? Who would I ask about this? And do you have any suggestions about how to self study a class?

So, I have a few questions:

Also, How can I start to prepare myself for some of my classes now? And How can I better manage my time next year?

Thanks!

You can’t really prepare right now over the summer, but once school starts, just make sure to keep up with the work. don’t procrastinate and read the textbook until the last minute. maybe read within the 2-3 days before the test. i can’t really give you a way to better manage your time because it honestly has to do with your personality and how much self-control you have. if you do have self-control, i would advise you to pick days to work on assignments/projects and arrange it out on a planner the day you are assigned it. then stick to the schedule. if you don’t have much self-control, i can only advise you do at least not procrastinate on projects. for tests/quizzes, maybe you can do some cramming the day before.

you can easily study eco by yourself. buy a review book and study out of that WEEKS in advance of ap testing week. macro is very doable, but i don’t know about micro. you would want to ask your testing advisor at ur school and if u don’t have one, ask ur counselor. all they have to do is buy a packet of the AP eco test and the day of the test, you just go and take it.
