<p>For this essay, I was planning on talking a little bit more about one of my extracurriculars. Would it be corny to write about this EC even though I only participated in it for 2 yrs? I truly enjoyed doing this EC and I feel like it would make a great essay topic.</p>
<p>I think it would be fine, as long as the 2 years comes from you starting late, not finishing early (with the exception of the EC shutting down or something). I’d think that admissions officers would know that high schoolers join new things throughout their four years and discover new interests, sometimes late…</p>

<p>And you don’t need to date it in your essay. What I mean by that is there is no need to say “I’ve only been doing this for 2 years” in your essay 
And even if you put it on your common app that you did it for 2 years, it’s fine. At any moment in your life there could be a place that really impacts you. </p>
<p>If you’re about 17, 2 years represents a non-trivial percentage of your conscious life so far.</p>
