A Question about the Math Requirement

But are my grades bad in number theory and stats?

Should I retake Calc BC and Stats for a easy 5?

Yeah, knew my scores aren't so hot. Just extra info.

Sorry for double posting. Basically, here's my overall question:
I am a math guy who hates competetive math but likes advanced math courses. I am wondering these three things:
1. Should I retake Calc BC and Stats for the easy 5?
2. Will my math courses be impressive though if I have a 3.3 and a 3.8?
3. Will I be considered a better than average applicant if I have a 4.0 GPA in high school, 6 AP'S by junior year, 2320 SAT, some acticities, and all these courses?

Btw: Here is my college course schedule for senior year:
Abstract Algebra and Light/Heat in fall.
Partial Differential Equations and Modern Physics in spring.
Can I let Caltech know I am in those courses at the time of my application?

What's your GPA currently meanvaluetheorem1???

I don't know if you can count the spring semesters because it said to list only seventh semester grades.

Any current students to comment on my situation?
4.0 GPA,

mmmm...im not a current student (and probably won't ever be lol), but i think i know what current students would say:
"there is never-ever 100% probability of getting in, but you have very strong stats, and you definately have a chance"
also, if u're 100% sure of getting an easy 5 on BC and/or AB, go ahead, why not? although it would probably cost you a little bit

but

all your stats and 5 on AP's would certainly look better thanthe same stats but with a couple of 3's ;)

good luck!

Retake the APs and get 5s, no question at all.

3.3 looks bad, but won't destroy your application alone. The fact that you do arithmetic badly should prompt you to (gasp) learn how to do arithmetic better. This is the sort of thing that practice will clear up. You don't want to get here and do horribly on your physics exams beacuse you can't do arithmetic. That would be embarassing, and hurt your GPA. Your GPA will already hurt just beacuse it's Caltech, so no reason to make it worse. Do yourself a favor and get better at it now.

You can certainly let Caltech know what classes you are taking

And you are probably going to be on the border between accept/deny if you get 5's. Without the 5's you're likely to get denied.

Hope I hit all the questions,
