<p>I think it also depends on your area of interest. For CS Carnagie Mellon is by far the best on your list. For humanities the ranking would be different.</p>

<p>According to my prep school friends, they would rank Boston C & NYU as safeties, ranking them lower than Wesleyan U. & Carnagie Mellon U. Anyhow, just my 2 cents. It is more about fit, than rank anyway.</p>
