Hello. I am a senior in high school right now. I have applied for the UC Berkeley computer science program in the college of letters and science. I have heard it is very competitive and you need a gpa requirement in order to make it. I am still wondering whether to take the program at UC Berkeley or the engineering school at UC Irvine, or UC Santa Barbara.
To declare L&S CS at UCB, you need a 3.3 GPA in CS 61A, 61B, 70.
Are you admitted to the CS major at UCI and UCSB?
Yes. I am admitted as a CS Major at UCI, UCSB, Cal Poly Slo. Thank You very much for your input.
If you get into Cal, go to Cal. I don’t think it’s as crazy as EECS (I’m sure someone can confirm or deny this).

Since those who intend to pursue CS take the same required lower division classes as EECS, you will be competing against those in EECS. A few of my kid’s friends didn’t get in because of low GPA. Two B+ and one B will not get you in as they are very strict in terms of 3.3 GPA requirement.
