a question about W&M policy with "superscoring"?

i have a couple of questions about this whole super scoring idea:

1) Does W&M superscore the ACT? For example if I submit 3 different test dates will they pick the best out of my E, M, R, S, W and recreate a new composite?
2) Similar to Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, does W&M superscore across the SAT and ACT? for example if i turn in a 3 SATs and 3 ACTS, does W&M go through and combine the scores to give me a new score? so in essence, does W&M combine ACT and SAT score to create a new super super score haha.

I asked our S college counselor about how the scores are considered. S took the SAT 2x and ACT 1x. It is my impression from that conversation that W&M will take the best scores(not best “set” of scores). In other words, with the SAT ,they would take the best CR,M and W out of the 6 scores submitted. ACT stands alone. I’ll bet there is some sort of formula to tell if the SAT scores or the ACT scores are best. W&M admissions (on this message board) will probably answer your question also.I’ve never heard the term super-score used . Interesting.

thank you for the ino.

i’m going to bump this b/c i want the W&M admissions to confirm too

W&M will take your best SAT score (mixed and matched), and then they will take whichever is better between your mixed and matched SAT score and ACT score.

Here is the thing though… it doesn’t really matter what the school’s do with your scores. You do the best that you can, and then mail it to the school. That’s the only part that you can control. Doesn’t make sense to worry about the rest of it. I’m sure you have enough things to stress about when applying for colleges, just my $0.02 =)

W&M “superscores” the SAT but not the ACT. If you submit multiple SAT exam scores, we will combine your best Critical Reading, Math, and Writing into your best composite score. The ACT test administration does not recommend super scoring the ACT and therefore, we do not. However, if you submit multiple ACT scores, we will only look at whichever composite is highest.

If you submit both SAT and ACT scores we will only look at whichever composite is the best across exams (so if you’re SAT is higher than your ACT, we will look only at your SAT when reviewing your application).
