Can you give me an idea of what your sophomore year schedule looked like? I had to take 17 credits this semester to fulfill my GT, but I was wondering if that was a typical load @ Cornell. If you transferred...how many/what courses did you take, and what was your major?

Also, what courses transferred for you? I have 4s on AP spanish and Eng Lit...will those transfer? (I'm a COMM major). Just trying to figure out what my schedule will look like next year..

im a internal transfer bio major, does that count =D

I took 15 credits during my first semester at Cornell....I did 17 credits each semester at my first college.

Everything I took except a pre-osteopathic medicine seminar transferred...that included my year of biology, chemistry, english, calc 1, orchestra and a philosophy class.

Alright so I have 2 semesters of bio, 2 semesters of Eng. Comp, Sociology, Statistics, Intro to Global Change, Jewish Thought and Culture, Survey of Nutritional Careers, and Principles of Journalism...any insight into what will transfer?

bio, english, sociology and stats will transfer.

Not so sure about the rest of them...survey of nutritional careers probably won't. You'll receive an evaluation of your credits when you're formally accepted.

^^^^Thanks. Is there a certain time that you can meet with an advisor prior to school starting? I'll be down there for my brother's graduation in May, but I don't know if that will be too early....

You would need to meet with the CALS registrar to discuss that. I can tell you that doing that during graduation weekend = bad idea. The registrar's office will be swamped with processing final grades and clearing seniors for graduation.

The registrar sets up times during orientation for students to meet one on one to discuss transfer credits. You can also contact them during the summer via phone or e-mail.
