What are some questions you wish you'd asked current students/admissions officers/professors at your college, before you applied/got there, which would have made life easier for all of you?

Anyone?

10 char

Course requirements, housing options and social life.

Some good ones: (I asked some of these, but also didn’t ask some others…)

Housing guaranteed all four years?

Is there a website where students can review and recommend courses? (very important)

What is the quality of a school’s career center?

What are the general education requirements?

Cheap/good storage nearby?

Availability of summer courses?

Research opportunities?

(If somewhere rural) How easy is it to go into the large city nearby?

It’s the small, trivial things that matter!

Thanks guys!

Oh and will the admissions officers get irritated if I email them whenever a new question crops up? Or am I better off sticking with students to answer my questions?

@Everyone > I found an old forum where intl. students complained about how they’d rather stayed in their home country if they knew about how much life in the U.S. is expensive for an intl.
Do you guys encounter the same problems ?

I asked Qs like:

What is the average SAT I score (component-wise) for accepted International students?

What is the average finaid package granted to accepted International students?

How many international students are getting finaid and what is the the total number of international students (those not requiring aid incl.)?

Do you meet the full demonstrated need of all accepted applicants (i.e. closest thing to being need-blind)?

What is the acceptance rate for international students requiring finaid?

And I don’t think they will get irritated; after all, answering Qs no matter how silly/basic they maybe is their job. It might actually work in your favor if they remember your name or something.

Oh, haha, that would be nice. Thanks!

Are you heading into college or just applying?

Applying this year
