sounds like an interesting essay topic... when r u sending your app - i'm aiming for Monday, 25.

....and thanks for helping a techno-phobie out!

haha...I'd be lucky...I'll go for that, too, though...why not?
3 essays to do (yay)
wow, I procrastinated....I feel so stupid.

Well, Harry Potter is certainly my favorite book(s), but I feel like if I put it they'll think I'm an immature little girl. So, I think I'm going to put something a little more advanced. Is this a good idea?

Yeah...I'm doing the same...I wrote a 45 page thesis during junior year on the philosophy of magic in the HP series, but I'll still put Lord of the Rings as a favorite book....or maybe The Weight of Glory, by Lewis....

is the "Favorites" thing even that important in admissions?

I heard they don't even look at it until AFTER you are admitted, for roommate selection purposes...

in conclusion: chill...and let's not overanalyze this...

Yea I didn't spend that much time on them. I don't think they're for roomate purposes, they definitely have another form for that later on.

Does 50 words for each answer sound good?

That sounds like a bit much. I used maybe five words at most.

I put Google News for my favorite website, and this Tom Robbins book for my favorite book

But really don't know what to put for the favorite keepsaske. I don't have one. Do I make one up? :p

just look around your room, what's in it that u like...bam, fav keepsake

my computer??

old worn out dictionary

yes, that sounds good

lol whoa you put tom robbins too? which one?
I put Still-Life with Woodpecker

I put livejournal.com down as my favorite website; it's pretty generic but I spend so much time there... Oh well, I didn't put an excessive amount of thought into the favorites because I figured --

a) It'd be best to be honest, and not manipulate my image - get in on my own personality, etc.
and b), that they probably didn't have that much of an impact on your admissions chances anyway. I suspect the only way they'd help is if one of your readers had the same favorite as you.

Yea people are spending so much time on them! I really didn't even give a second thought to my answers, so some of them are quite generic.

I honestly can't remember what I put for some of them! I mean, I have a pretty good idea but it was 11 p.m. the night before the early decision apps were due in my school's counseling office.

wow your school makes you hand them in pretty early!

But like, some people are writing 50 word answers?? I didn't explain anything.

It specificially asked for NO explanation. Thus, I did not explain anything. The rule that I followed in general for college apps was if it didn't say anything pertaining to a subject (i.e., if attaching a resume was okay), then it was acceptable to do so. But if it specifically said to avoid doing something, then I didn't want to take the chance of crossing any admissions officers by doing so. (I need all the help I can get!)

And yeah, anything ED was due Oct 1st.

Hmmm...I typed 50 words, i actually meant to type 5. I'm using complete sentences. I'm sick today, so I have plenty of time to start this college stuff.
