Hey guys, I did the unthinkable and ended up misreading the prompt on the DBQ for the Euro exam today. However, I caught my mistake and hopefully fixed it and was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not I managed to save my DBQ from a score of zero. We’re not allowed to disclose the specific prompt so I’ll try to describe my situation without disclosing the actual prompt. We had a compare and contrast DBQ for reactions to a certain movement in two different time periods. I got too excited or something and ended up only reading the first half of the prompt so the entirety of my essay up to my conclusion was only about the reactions to the movement. I caught my mistake as I was writing the first line of my conclusion and ended up making a whole bunch of changes to my essay. I changed my thesis so it stated that there were two different reactions to the movement but no differences between the reactions of the two time periods (so my essay still supported my thesis while my thesis kinda fit the prompt now). I also changed the concluding sentences of my body paragraphs to say that these reactions happened in both time periods (so it supported my thesis) and I had a relatively strong synthesis of a movement that had mixed reactions in two different time periods in which it was popular.
tl;dr: For a compare and contrast essay, if i specify that there really are no differences between the two things and have somewhat strong arguments supporting that, is it a valid argument for collegeboard? If not, will I at least get partial credit?
