A question on writing short responses

hey guy,
there are some required short responses in NYU common application supplement, whose character limitation is only 500, how can i make it impressive in such few characters? should i detailedly descirbe how one can tell my trait or simply say what my character? the former takes long but the latter was too short...

I’d say try to find that “happy medium” between flowery descriptions and bare bones. Don’t go overboard using details, because (I think) when they look at your short answers, they are more focused on /what/ you said rather than /how/ you expressed yourself. I think you should put effort into communicating your ideas clearly and without too many frills.

Hope this was helpful :)
