yvien, your will find out what books you need about two-three weeks before classes start. The NYU Bookstore (http://www.bookstores.nyu.edu/) will post a search function where you can look up what books you need by inputting your N identification number.

However, I can tell you that chances are you will have to buy the Calculus I and Writing the Essay books from the NYU bookstore - I think both courses use materials published by NYU itself. The lab manuals for Gen. Chem. I and II are also NYU publications - they are usually bundled with the textbook, but you should ask if the bookstore will sell you those separately. As for Principles of Bio, this year we used the 7th edition of Campbell and Reece's biology textbook (http://wps.aw.com/wps/media/access/Pearson_Default/1663/1703422/login.html) - I'm sure that as soon as a new edition comes out, you'll have to buy that one.
