A question that may be in Peoples Minds

Does being an Indian (or Asian for that matter) help with admission chances? Say, I am a permanent resident of US but Indian citizen with Indian education.
I mean except for diversity, if given the chance of choosing either an American or Asian/Latino/other (who is not a citizen), whom would a university pick? (assume they have same stats)

Humm, I don’t think you get any points for Indian or East Asian. I think you are lumped in with Asian, but I could be wrong. It is not considered an under represented minority as far as I have seen. Asian is considered an over represented minority most everywhere. However, at some colleges who need this kind of diversity it would be welcome. Some less popular, or midwestern or mostly white colleges it could be a plus.

It is usually the opposite, particularly for top schools.
