A question to 2200+'ers

Hey,
Have any of you scored MUCH less than your normal SAT scores in practice tests before the 2200+ score? Like, if you scored a 2300 on the January session, did any of you score lets say below 2200 in any practice test during december? If so, how did you handle it?

Not sure what is your question. My D got 2300+ consistently in the last 5 or so practice tests on different books but got twice below 2300 in real tests.

Well I have a 2230 (superscore but whatever, no difference at all!)
Um well I got a 2150 on the january test and 2170 on the march test, but honestly my tests were around a 1900 with a 600 on math (i got a 710 somehow LOL). But yeah practice tests can give a really general indication of where you are, but once you step into the testing room, everything changes.
I’m not quite sure what you mean by ‘how I handled it’ though. If you mean emotionally, I kinda just went into the test hoping that I would get the score that I had gotten on practice tests. But, again, everything changes on test day (sometimes for the better! )

hope this helped!

What top colleges accept superscore?

I would get 2100s or lower on practice tests. On my first try on the real thing, I got a 1440/2210, and then got a 1600/2350 the second time, for A superscore of 160"/2370. It honestly depends on the test you take.

With the SAT, I got a 2180 on the practice but a 2230 on the real thing - not much of a difference. With the ACT, however, on some practice tests from my local library’s website (not sure how official they were) I only got in the high 20’s (even getting a 24 on Science once), but on both of my real ACTs I got 34s.

i was getting like 2160s consistently on practice tests for the longest time and then reading just clicked and i got 2400s or 2370s on practice tests consistently and then 2400 on real thing. It’s all a matter of practicing and determination.

I got like 33s and 34s on the ACT, and then I got a 36 on the real thing. It all depends on the day.

Wow, you all have some high scores …

Practice tests are very much different from the real tests. Not in how difficult they are. Not in what you need to know. But the pressure and the environment is way different. At home, when I was taking the practice tests, I was relaxed, because they didn’t really count for anything. Even if I did bad, I could go over my mistakes, and hope to do better the next time, so at home, a practice test-taker is not nervous at all. On the actual test day, though, it is totally different. “These scores matter…” plays through your head a million times, after every single question, so you get really nervous and it is hard to think straight.

I too, was consistently scoring above 2300 on practice tests, then on the real day, I got a 2240.

I got a 2400 on 5 practice tests, and then i got a 600 3 times in a row

But seriously though, I got like mid 2200’s on practice tests, but I got a 2320 on my first real SAT.

I work really well under pressure. I guess I’m just lucky that way.

2200er here.

800 m 700 cr 700 w

I performed best once ive tested at the enviornment.
I also did not score my practice tests, but I never got a single math q wrong (Im on math team), however for CR I usually got ~7 wrong per section. None of them vocabulary, yet this may, I got a vocab q wrong this time, regardless, I got around my avg score, I think?

I didnt study for writing portion because it’s not that important and I got a 70 on the psat on it, so it wasnt a priority.:)

I got a 2210 on the SAT (800 CR/710 W/700 M). I hit the 2200 range a couple of times out of the many practice SAT tests I took. I usually hit the 2100 range though, so I was very happy with my score.

I took practice tests in a real testing environment through my tutoring company. Score range was 2080-2120.
On the real SAT I scored 2280.
CR: 770 M:800 W:710
