has anyone ever heard of... Yuki Kuramoto?
i want to write about this guy on my college essay (havent started though)
hes a great musician and i love his music
i might even wanna play some of his pieces for supplemental things to send in
(along with some beethoven or something)
i am not the greatest pianist in the world but i think it would be interesting...
but i wonder if any of the adcoms would recognize his name
as much as i want to avoid writing about someone everyone else is writing about
im hesistant about throwing a never-heard-of-before name into their faces
or would they have anything against new age music?
i am an intl so i am not sure what us colleges would think about all this
anyways give me some opinions

Do it, the fact that they probably havent heard of him is a plus as it shows your interest in music goes beyond basic mainstream knowledge. And you have a specific liking to the genre/artist. It will be unique and a pleasent difference from the "what i learned during my community service" type essay.
