Okay, I think I'm going to feel stupid asking this, but I just want to make sure.

In my city there's this scholarship called the Richard Green Scholarship that one junior from each of the city's 6 high schools receive. I just won it and its worth $10,000, which is amazing and I'm totally excited about it, but you also get an internship with it. I'm even more excited about the internships, I think. I get to go to the my city's Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, a local Fox News station, the city's school district building, the metroplex's river non-profit foundation, and other places.

It's a great experience, however, it takes place during two class periods my senior year. On my schedule and transcripts, I believe it will say they are off periods. I really don't want ND to think I'm slacking off, taking two off periods, so is there anyway I can explain this to them? Is there a place on the application or can I call them or something?

I know if I could explain this, it would look really good and I think they would understand, but I just want to make sure there's a way for me to explain it somewhere. I don't want them to think I'm slacking off, because I definitely am not.

I suggested a letter because the final note section is too short.

As a final note, I included a very short essay explaining my reasons for wanting to attend Notre Dame. Since it is limited to 150 words, you could be better off with a letter.

And you should definitely continue to stalk... eh... stay in touch with your regional representative. Contacting the representative frequently with interesting questions will help you out.

I just got a new counselor this year and I haven't been able to talk to him much. He'll probably mention it though, because it is a big deal at our school, but I still will probably want to mention it elsewhere.

ManUtd200le, it sounds like a good idea to explain why you want to attend ND in the final notes. I'll contact my regional representative about the letter too. Plus, it'll be a good way to get in touch with them.

On an unrelated note, does our counselor rec have to be from our personal counselor or just one at our school? A few of the other ones know me better than my current one, so if I could get them to write the rec, it might turn out better.
