A Quick Goodbye

I joined CC back in the fall as we were filling out applications and doing school interviews with DS. I can't tell you how valuable this forum has been during the admissions process. Many of the veteran parents have been superb and generous founts of information (off hand, Exie, Parlabane, Neato, Klements, ops, Dyer, SevenDad, Periwinkle, Grinzing, 2Kids, a tip of the hat to all of you). I've also really enjoyed hearing the aspirations and insights of both applicants and enrolled students. And of course our resident pro, GemmaV.

Since April 11 and DS's decision to attend Loomis Chaffee, I'm aware of changing gears and just feel like what I'll have to offer in the future will be somewhat different. For some very good reasons, CC doesn't let you close an account--so your posts remain--but you can effectively close it by logging out and not returning, which is what I intend for this monicker.

However, I'm already "back" as PelicanDad. As our family learns more about LC, I'll share what I discover, and students/parents interested in LC in the coming years feel free to contact me.

Love your new username. Good luck at Loomis! :)

Ave atque vale!

Glad you’re still with us. I do know that I benefited from hearing other parent perspectives as I navigated with my own child. It helped me maintain perspective. Your words of wisdom will be treasured here! And congratulations on your new journey as a Loomis parent. We’re going to be testing new waters as SYA parents so I might have to start that thread in the fall.

Loomis is super! We just hired an LC grad via Bowdoin and he’s doing great. Keep us posted.

Sweet of you to remember me, and I’m sure we’re all glad you’re not leaving CC for good! Best wishes as the new adventure starts at LC>
